The purpose of the GA-20061 AFJROTC program is to develop citizens of character dedicated to serving their nation and community. The mission of the AFJROTC instructor team is to provide a framework to fulfill this purpose by helping high school students develop leadership skills, self-discipline, teamwork, and citizenship. A strong objective of the Air Force and of Carrollton High School is to instill class and excellence in each cadet. The program greatly promotes community service, excellence in the classroom, fitness, and personal development for success. All of these aspects exist to create an environment centered on providing each individual cadet with a lifetime of memories and valuable experiences. Admirable attributes and skills that only leaders possess will aid in building character and lead each individual to a promising and fulfilling future.
The Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) was founded under Public Law 88-647, “the ROTC Revitalization Act of 1964,” which enabled all the Armed Services to offer a Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps program at secondary schools that apply and meet selection criteria. Our unit, GA-20061, started in 2006. The designation “GA-20061” means that Carrolton High School was the 1st school to be activated in the year 2005. The “GA” represents the state of Georgia.
Our experienced and dedicated faculty members are passionate about teaching and are committed to providing our students with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed.
