The purpose of the GA-20061 AFJROTC program is to develop citizens of character who are dedicated to serving their nation and community. The mission of the AFJROTC instructor team is to provide a framework that fulfills this purpose by helping high school students cultivate essential leadership skills, self-discipline, teamwork, and citizenship. A primary objective of the Air Force and Carrollton High School is to instill class and excellence in each cadet. This AFJROTC program greatly promotes community service, academic excellence, physical fitness, and personal development for success. All of these aspects work together to create an environment that provides each individual cadet with a lifetime of memories and valuable experiences. The admirable attributes and skills that leaders possess will assist in building character and guiding each individual toward a promising and fulfilling future.
The Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) programs were established under Public Law 88-647, known as the ROTC Revitalization Act of 1964. This legislation allowed all the Armed Services to offer Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps programs at secondary schools that apply and meet the selection criteria. Our unit, GA-20061, began in 2006, and this designation indicates that Carrolton High School was the first school activated in 2005. The 'GA' signifies the state of Georgia. The AFJROTC programs not only focus on developing leadership skills but also emphasize the importance of community service.
Our experienced and dedicated faculty members are passionate about teaching and are committed to providing our students with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in AFJROTC programs, while also fostering community service and developing essential leadership skills.
