AFJROTC Camps

rAIDERS cAMP

During the AFJROTC camps, cadets engage in a series of challenging activities and exercises that test their endurance, strength, and mental resilience. These activities may include obstacle courses, team-building exercises, navigation challenges, rope courses, orienteering, marksmanship training, and other military-inspired drills, often featured in specialized programs like the color guard camp and leadership camp. Participants are typically divided into teams, fostering a competitive yet cooperative atmosphere that encourages camaraderie and mutual support. Instructors, often including active or retired military personnel, lead the training, providing guidance and mentorship throughout the Raiders camp and other programs.

Leadership camp

In our leadership camp, part of the AFJROTC camps, Cadets are directly trained by Colonel Farr. Only those selected can participate, where they learn to Lead, Command Respect, and develop Communication skills. Cadets at this camp, along with those in color guard camp and Raiders camp, often enjoy engaging in fun, interactive training exercises.

Color guard camp

This color guard camp provides hands-on instruction and intensive practice sessions aimed at improving precision, teamwork, and overall performance for AFJROTC cadets.

During the camp, cadets learn various aspects of flag etiquette, proper handling and folding of flags, marching techniques, and flag presentation protocols. They also receive guidance on uniform maintenance and drill maneuvers to ensure a polished and professional appearance during ceremonies.

In addition to skill development, this leadership camp fosters discipline by encouraging cadets to take on specific roles within the team, allowing them to lead their peers during practice sessions and mock ceremonies.

The camp often features competitive elements where cadets from different schools or units showcase their skills in a friendly yet challenging environment. This not only helps cadets gain valuable experience but also builds camaraderie with other AFJROTC members from diverse backgrounds, similar to the spirit found in Raiders camp.
